Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop and verify the quality of the Thai version of the Attention and Working Memory Battery Test for kindergarten and elementary school students. The sample group of 122 students consisted of 51 kindergarten and elementary school students (Grade 1-3) and 71 high school students (Grade 4-6). In this study, we used E-prime version 2.0.10.242 to create a Thai version of the brain function model. The results of the study showed that the brain function test consisted of the working memory test and the attention test. The working memory test had 6 workloads: 1) Processing Thai Letter 2) Processing Number 3) Thai Stroop 4) Thai Switching 5) 0-back and 6) 1-back.  The attention test had 2 workloads: 1) simple reaction time and 2) focus attention. The results showed that the accuracy mean scores of attention and working memory tasks of upper elementary school students were higher than those of the kindergarten and the lower elementary school students. The accuracy of the attention tasks of all students were higher than the work memory tasks. There was no significant difference of reaction time in all tasks for both group of students. Both accuracy scores and task reaction time were based on the developmental characteristics of working memory capacity with age. This developed cognitive performance model for primary school students assessed the quality of the tool by examining its content validity through expert review and evaluating the tool's confidence.  The confidence of the instrument using the alpha coefficient according to Cronbach's method showed that the value of the alpha coefficient 0.721 - 0.950 and when the confidence value by the formula KR - 20 found that the value was 0.80- 0.95 indicates that this tool had high confidence and is suitable for further use for kindergarten and elementary school students.
